ILO commemorates International Day of Persons with Disabilities - 3 December 2013
This day is observed each year on 3 December to encourage better understanding of issues facing people with disabilities. “Too many people with disabilities are denied the dignity of work. It’s a waste of potential that comes at a cost of between 3 and 7 per cent of GDP,” says ILO Director-General Guy Ryder. See Guy Ryder's full message for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
To commemorate the Day, the ILO will host a photo exhbit entitled 'Breaking barriers: Moving towards inclusive workplaces' from 25 November 2013 to 3 January 2014 at the ILO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
