Employment is central to the inclusion of people with disabilities in society.

Business & Disability is committed to raising awareness of all aspects of employment and employability for people with disabilities.

Our aim is to provide employers with practical information on how to facilitate the employment of people with disabilities within their organisations, to raise awareness of the issues and to breakdown the barriers and negative preconceptions that may exist.

We believe it is imperative for companies to mainstream disability throughout their organisations, through their HR functions, their training programmes and their recruitment practices, both temporary and permanent.

Inclusiveness is undoubtedly a reflection of a good society so, for the long-term benefit of all, good companies must strive to be representative of that society.

Needless to say, with non-discrimination a key issue for the European Union, and especially during the 2007 European Year of Disabilities, maximising our efforts to eliminate discrimination in the labour market is of paramount importance.
