As a part of Zain’s efforts to foster internal innovation, a 15-hour Megathon was held on 23 December 2021. The aim of the Megathon was to find innovative assistive technology solutions and ideas to support people with disabilities’ day-to-day needs. 28 Zainers across all operations got the chance to participate with the goal to produce ideas on Assistive Technologies.

Together with Project Nitrous, Zain was able to hold the Megathon which saw community engagement and technical expertise that included Artificial Intelligence, Software Development, Assistive Technology, and Digital Fabrication. Once the teams presented their ideas and solutions to the panel of judges, a winner from Zain Jordan was selected to move on to the next phase with Project Nitrous. The winner, Mohammed Al-Khmous, created a solution to support people with hearing impairments. He will be moving forward with his idea under the mentorship of Project Nitrous to further develop and then create a prototype of his brilliant technology.
