The Family Members Program falls within MAPFRE’s Global Disability Program, the mission of which is to guide, accompany and help MAPFRE employees’ family members with disabilities to secure a job. The program guides people with disabilities as they pass through different stages of life so that they reach maximum levels of autonomy and integration within society. This is achieved through the development of a personalized training and employment itinerary that features regular monitoring and follow-up. The beneficiaries of the program are the immediate relatives of employees with any type of disability, up to the second degree of kinship, and since 2020 we also provide support for employees’ children with disabilities under the age of 18.

This program is conducted in Spain in collaboration with the Konecta Foundation. A Konecta Foundation manager is in charge of accompanying each beneficiary and their family from the beginning to the end of each process, in line with the following phases:

  1. Welcome and case analysis phase
  2. Itinerary design and execution phase
  3. Monitoring and evaluation phase

So far, almost one hundred family members of employees have benefited from this initiative.

The main program partners are not-for-profit organizations and companies that recruit people with disabilities. Coordination with these bodies is key to the proper functioning of the program.

With this program, we are contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, specifically SDG 4 “Quality Education”, SDG 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, SDG 10 “Reduced Inequalities” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”.

MAPFRE was recently named a winner at the 7th Diversity Management Awards, organized by Fundación para la Diversidad, in the “Large Company” category in Spain for this program. Winning this award underscores MAPFRE’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

“At MAPFRE, we value diversity and we work toward inclusion. Working for inclusion is working for sustainable development, for a better world and for the growth of our company.”

At MAPFRE, our diversity makes us unique.
