PBDN’s Working Beyond Barriers: 1st Annual Conference on Disability Inclusion in the Workplace

In July 2022, the Philippine Business and Disability Network (PBDN) held its first annual conference entitled “Working Beyond Barriers: 1st Annual Conference on Disability Inclusion in the Workplace”.

With the theme “Leadership and Participation of Businesses Towards an Inclusive, Accessible, and Sustainable World with Persons with Disability,” the event shed light about the opportunities and challenges in disability inclusion in the workplace, and tackled current and potential policies and practices that further promote participation and representation of persons with disabilities through its local and international speakers. The event was open to all and was attended by business and industry leaders and representatives, members from the disability sector, the government, academia and other interested individuals.

Almost 1,000 individuals from thirteen countries such as the Philippines, the United States, and Canada, tuned in to the conference. The recording of the conference is also online.

Furthermore, the PBDN held an in-person gathering on 22 July 2022 for all PBDN members

and its key stakeholders to learn more about its milestones at present and the road ahead for PBDN, to help foster its collaboration in the years to come. The gathering also

featured the ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding signing for the steering committee members, namely: JP Morgan Chase & Co., IBM, PayPal, Asurion, and Citihub.
