On 23 September 2021, International Day of Sign Language (IDSL) was celebrated and highlighted group-wide to raise awareness about the importance of sign language for people with hearing impairments and of cultural diversity.

This year’s theme was “Sign Language is for Everyone” which focuses and highlights how people with hearing impairments across the world may work together to promote the acknowledgment of the right to use sign languages in all aspects of life.

There are 430 million persons with hearing impairments across the world, using over 300 different sign languages. Therefore, Zain works to remove communication barriers and tries to provide sign language for all.

Zain highlighted IDSL group-wide by hosting a series of talks, celebrating the linguistic identity and diversity of people with hearing impairments. The company also launched a sign language library and launched a series of awareness campaigns.
