Zain and Be My Eyes: A Partnership for Inclusion
Zain, a leading telecommunications provider, has taken a significant step towards fostering inclusion by partnering with Be My Eyes, the world's largest community connecting blind and low-vision individuals with sighted volunteers. This partnership has been implemented across all Zain operations group-wide, aligning with Zain's commitment to creating an accessible and inclusive world for everyone.
Through the Be My Eyes app, blind and low-vision users can connect with sighted volunteers via live video calls. By pointing their smartphone's rear-camera towards an object or scene, they can receive assistance from volunteers who can describe what they see. This innovative solution empowers individuals with visual impairments to navigate their daily lives more independently.
Zain's partnership with Be My Eyes has already yielded impressive results. 118 Zain employees have successfully completed 153 calls, and both volunteers and callers have expressed high satisfaction levels, with scores of 90% and 91%, respectively.
