The power of AI of enhancing Digital accessibility – A Capgemini and Microsoft joint session
Capgemini Mission Handicap in France recently hosted an insightful training session on digital accessibility and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in fostering inclusion, with Philippe Trotin, Accessibility Lead at Microsoft France. This session underscored Capgemini's commitment to creating an accessible and inclusive workplace that empowers all employees, including those with disabilities and neurodiverse individuals.
Philippe Trotin's profound knowledge and engaging delivery enriched the discussions, making the session more than just a presentation. It laid the groundwork for a collective reflection on leveraging AI to promote inclusion within the company's HR practices. The session highlighted that creating an accessible workplace is complex and multidimensional, requiring a structured approach to move from ideas to action.
The session outlined a four-step approach to integrate AI into Capgemini's practices:
- AI Awareness Phase: This phase involves familiarising teams with key AI concepts, potential use cases, and implications for their roles. This foundational knowledge is crucial for understanding how AI can be effectively integrated into their practices.
- Organise an Ideathon: To generate concrete ideas, an ideathon is being organised. This event will focus on identifying complex or time-consuming tasks where AI could serve as a supportive or optimizing tool, fostering creativity and innovation among teams.
- Identify Relevant Prompts: Based on the specific needs of each team, the most relevant AI prompts will be identified. This ensures that the use of AI tools is effective and targeted, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities within the organisation.
- Spot Automation Opportunities: Tasks that can be automated will be identified, ensuring that the approach remains human-centered, inclusive, and compassionate. Automation should enhance work without compromising the personal touch essential in HR.
Together, Capgemini is paving the way for a more inclusive future in their HR practices, ensuring that every colleague can excel and bring their best creativity and innovation to the workplace.
