At Capgemini, “Unleashing human energy through technology for an inclusive and sustainable future” guides everything they do. In alignment with this vision, Capgemini France, in partnership with Handilab, hosted a landmark event on May 27 to spotlight seven pioneering startups committed to improving the lives of persons with disabilities and those experiencing loss of autonomy. This initiative followed a year-long call for applications aimed at identifying and supporting innovative, high-impact solutions that address real-world accessibility barriers. The event brought together key stakeholders from the inclusive innovation ecosystem—startups, corporates, and social entrepreneurs—united by a shared mission: to make technology a true enabler of equity and autonomy.

The event unfolded in three impactful segments:

  • A thought-provoking roundtable exploring the challenges and opportunities of inclusive innovation;
  • An awards ceremony celebrating the selected startups;
  • A networking session designed to foster collaboration and scale impact.

Opening the evening, Éric de Saqui de Sannes, Executive Director of FS, Capgemini France, reaffirmed Capgemini's commitment to advancing social and technological innovation in the disability space—an area where Capgemini continues to lead with purpose and empathy.

The seven winning startups showcased transformative solutions, including:

  • Ava France: Real-time AI-powered subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing;
  • GOTOIoT: Custom IoT and mobility solutions to support elderly independence;
  • Hand’s in Placement: Reintegration of brain-injured individuals through mentorship-based work-study programs;
  • Lili for Life: Visual tools enhancing reading for people with dyslexia;
  • Neutralit: Smart, caregiver-friendly duvet cover reducing mental load;
  • Retras: Writing rehabilitation device for stroke and Parkinson’s patients;
  • Universal Wings Mobility: Rethinking accessible travel for reduced mobility users.

A standout moment was the roundtable titled “Innovating by and for Disability,” where experts from Fiminco and Sogeti explored how emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing can reduce inequalities and create autonomy.

Capgemini continues to lead as an ecosystem orchestrator, empowering inclusive innovation that transforms lives and builds a more accessible future—supporting the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
