Internal Inclusive panel for evaluating the new AXA Talent Acquisition platform
In 2024, as part of AXA’s efforts to assure that its internal tools and apps are accessible, the company considered digital accessibility a strong factor during the technical evaluation and the user acceptance testing of its new global Talent Acquisition platform that is soon set to launch.
The AXA Group HR Team collaborated with AXA's IT teams at AXA Group Operations and, in line with AXA's Digital Accessibility Program, two audits were conducted for the back office and the external job application sites.
To complement the technical audits and the following user acceptance testing, an inclusive user panel was set up after a call for volunteers to the internal Diversity and Inclusion Employee Resource Groups. AXA invited employees with disabilities, learning differences and/or neurodiversity to individually test the platform over a short call with a facilitator.
Shortly after, task-based user tests were arranged with employees with dyslexia, ADHD, hearing impairment and/or visual impairments. Apart from trying the new platform and comparing it with the old one, the users were asked to comment on their experience using similar sites and on the job application process itself with different companies. The resulting outcomes were very useful not only for improving the platform itself but the overall process.
All findings from the audits and the user tests were sent to the platform vendor for remediation and follow up. AXA’s teams are finally planning speed training sessions for the employees that will act as editors, to guarantee that accessibility is taken into consideration when producing content for job application sites. AXA is planning to extend this practice to all new global platforms implemented internally.
