Sodexo Brazil was recognized in 2020 in the Exame guideline for their practices regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities. 5.1% of the company’s employees were persons with disabilities, totalling 2,174 employees with disabilities. Contributing to the success it the training on LIBRAS (Brazilian sign language) for managers to be better able to hire employees with hearing impairments.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in 2020, Sodexo Brazil gave additional visibility to the positive contributions their employees with disabilities make to the business success.

Gustavo Bernardo, General Services Officer with an intellectual disability stated: “I feel good working here. I learned a lot and if I work well today it is because I received support from the whole team.” Gustavo also complemented his remarks with a message for managers who can hire people with disabilities: “First of all, look at our hearts.”

Mayara Souza, Operational Site Manager and Gustavo’s manager: “Gustavo is a very responsible person and committed. He performs his duties in an exemplary way. For the Site Manager, working with a person with intellectual disability is a daily exchange of experiences, as she said: “You can be sure that employees with disabilities are committed, affectionate and knowing them well you can extract the best from them.”
