The Nigeria Business and Disability Network (NBDN) was incubated by Sightsavers Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management in 2020 and is currently chaired by Access Corporation. The NBDN is an employer-led platform that aims to build disability confidence of employers and help persons with disabilities obtain employment and gain the skills to enter the job market. The NBDN held the second Nigeria Diversity and Inclusion Conference on 29 May at the Access Bank Head Office in Lagos with the theme of disability inclusion in corporate sustainability. The conference brought together member organisations, from the private and public sector, and civil society, as well as other organisations working on disability inclusion. Discussions were held on how to eliminate negative stereotypes of persons with disabilities, and how to create solutions to make companies more disability inclusive. The conference had keynote and guest speakers, with panel discussions and interactive sessions, as well as opportunities to network with other conference participants. Network members were able to share success stories on disability inclusion from their companies and learn from other members on how to make workplaces and opportunities more inclusive for persons with disabilities in Nigeria. TVC News Nigeria published a video highlighting some moments from the conference.
