The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people’s mental health and has highlighted inequalities in society. Sodexo Group believes that it is important to build on that momentum – educate and work collectively to promote a positive culture around mental health, as all of us have a role to play.
The World Mental Health Day annually commemorated on 10 October, provides a good opportunity to raise awareness on mental health, help recognize and discuss mental health issues and remove the stigma often associated with mental health conditions. That’s why on 7 October, Sodexo’s Disability Voice network and SOAR Employee Business Resource Group (Disabilities US) hosted a webinar around mental health issues.
The 1-hour broadcast (in 5 languages) gathered 515 Sodexo employees from all over the world. It also featured Liz Taub from Disability:IN. Liz shared her own experience of mental health issues, provided expert advice on how to deal with mental health struggles and focused on the importance of allyship in destigmatizing mental health.
