Capgemini attended VivaTech in Paris, emphasising how technology can enhance inclusivity within society. Helene Chinal, Transformation Director for Southern and Central Europe at Capgemini and Executive sponsor for Disability in France, hosted a conference at the Capgemini booth. The focus was on showcasing how tech and AI can expand opportunities for people with disabilities, featuring two innovative projects as prime examples.

One initiative presented in partnership with Signes de sens was “Ben the Koala,” an interactive application designed to assist children, including those with autism, in learning essential daily tasks such as hygiene routines and motor skills. The app includes step-by-step guides, printable resources, and practical tips for parents, aimed at fostering independence and confidence among all children.

Another project highlighted was HANDILAB. Located in Saint Denis, HANDILAB aims to accelerate start-ups focusing on disability solutions. It embraces the concept of “technological overflow,” where innovations initially developed for disabilities can benefit broader society, much like the universal TV remote control. HANDILAB not only promotes innovation but also views disability as a viable business sector. Capgemini is a partner of the inclusive business challenge, supporting selected start-ups with crucial resources such as workstations, tailored incubation programs, user connections, and visibility. HANDILAB aims to become the reference centre for French tech serving people with disabilities and to be part of the Olympic and Paralympic heritage.

Capgemini’s presence at VivaTech aligns with their belief in technology’s potential to create an inclusive future for all, in leveraging technology for inclusivity, and a more accessible and equitable society.
