Commencement of Ready for Inclusive Sustainable Employment/Entrepreneurship (RISE/E) Project

Sightsavers in partnership with Standard Chartered has started the RISE/E Project which is phase-two of Futuremakers Project in Pakistan after successfully completing its first phase. The project aims to empower young persons with disabilities in Pakistan by supporting their entry and retention in the labour market, through business employment or self-employment. It will support both women and men with disabilities to access decent employment opportunities and grow their businesses, while also helping employers build confidence in inclusive employment practices. Additionally, the project will strengthen the Pakistan Business and Disability Network by promoting inclusive business practices and advocating for policies that create equal employment opportunities for youth with disabilities. By addressing both individual and systemic barriers to employment, this initiative seeks to create sustainable, scalable outcomes, leading to a more inclusive and supportive labour market in Pakistan.

The project is planning its formal launch event in August 2024.
