On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2024, Accenture China was commissioned by the China Association of Volunteers for People with Disabilities to develop an immersive Metaverse experience tour for visitors at the National Accessibility Exhibition Center in Beijing. The Accenture MyOps team will be responsible for the design and delivery.

Employees with disabilities have always been the backbone of Accenture's MyOps team, accounting for over 80% of its members. They fulfill various roles, including software engineers and designers, and play an irreplaceable role in accessibility design projects. The "Immersive Metaverse Experience Tour" public welfare project will be another achievement delivered by this team.

Taking this project as an opportunity, the China Association of Volunteers for People with Disabilities and Accenture will continue to collaborate, with the aim of deepening people’s understanding in the field of technology-assisted volunteer services for people with disabilities.

Accenture has long been committed to achieving diversity and inclusion in the workplace and across society, making it one of their core values. Accenture has established 45 Accessibility Centers globally (two of which are in China) and created a network focused on promoting diversity and inclusion in 29 countries.

Throughout 2024, Accenture China continued to increase its investment in diversity and inclusion. Guided by the principle of "Technology for Good," the company achieved numerous successes.

  • AI Sign Language Digital Assistant: A chat application tailored for people with disabilities, enabling real-time conversion between voice, text, and sign language, significantly improving the efficiency and accuracy of communication.
  • ISA Smart PackStation: Equipped with natural sign language and floating braille, it better supports the onboarding process for employees with disabilities.

Accenture has been recognized for its efforts in disability inclusion and technology for good, topping the Refinitiv "Global Diversity and Inclusion Index" five times in seven years. In China, Accenture has also received numerous accolades, which have both honored its efforts and inspired a new journey toward greater accessibility.
