The Federal Civil Servant Proclamation No. 515/2007, provides for preferential treatment to persons with disabilities in the areas of recruitment, promotion and deployment. In addition, it includes a clause preventing discrimination on the basis of ethnic origin, sex, religion, political outlook, disability, HIV/AIDS or any other ground with respect to filling vacancies in the civil service. This provision is applicable to government offices only.
Proclamation 568/2008 on employment rights of persons with disabilities is exclusively for people who acquire a disability.
