Through its inclusive service certificate, The Home Depot seeks to train its members to provide an outstanding service to clients with disabilities.

At The Home Depot, we are convinced that all of us can help build a more inclusive Mexico. For this reason, from 15 May 2021, our member stores have been following a training to obtain an inclusive service certificate, with the objective to welcome all clients with disabilities and treat them with dignity.

This training will equip our members with the tools needed to provide an outstanding service to all clients with disabilities, to meet their needs and to guarantee that they have an extraordinary buying experience in our stores.

All the modules comprised in our inclusive service training have been developed with the help of persons with disabilities, so that our members can access information produced by the user of their services, thus allowing our stores to know and understand what the needs of their clients are.

Our members will learn, among other things:

  • The basics of Mexican Sign Language.
  • The correct terminology to talk about persons with disabilities.
  • The importance of accessibility and how to correctly assist a person with disabilities.

So far, 3927 of our members have obtained this certificate and we are working for further stores to join this initiative.

The Home Depot is one of the business members of Movimiento Congruencia, a business organization that promotes, raises awareness, and facilitates the labor inclusion of persons with disabilities. For more information, please go to: congruencia.org.mx
