A new video case study series produced by the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) spotlights PepsiCo’s efforts to create more diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible workplaces amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about numerous changes to how we live and work. Companies across the world are navigating a variety of challenges that were previously hard to imagine, impacting both front line workers and those who shifted to remote work.

A new video case study series produced by the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) highlights how one global company, PepsiCo, worked to meet the needs of all of its employees, including those with disabilities, during an unprecedented time that generated an increased demand for these products.

The videos illustrate the emphasis PepsiCo put on employee mental health and wellbeing, as well as workplace safety—and how the company ensured these efforts supported the needs of employees with disabilities, as well as other diverse populations. Additional topics addressed in the videos include the important role employee resource groups (ERGs) play in workforce inclusion and how virtual trainings can help ensure effective recruiting and hiring of people with disabilities. The videos are available with both captions and audio descriptions.

In 2019, PepsiCo was one of two companies (along with CVS Health) honored with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Excellence in Disability Inclusion Awards, which recognizes U.S. Federal Government contractors that demonstrate excellence in including people with disabilities in their workforces.

EARN is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy under a cooperative agreement with Cornell University’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability. For more information, visit AskEARN.org.
