Capgemini believes that a workplace where everyone feels valued for who they are, doesn’t just provide a powerful competitive edge, but is simply the right thing to do! That is why the company is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture that embraces the vast diversity present in societies.

With this vision, Capgemini initiated the NeuroInclusion Programme in 2023 for neurodivergent individuals to share their valuable experiences, ideas, and insights. To ensure its success, the company started engaging with external experts and vendor partners to understand industry best practices and how can they be tailored to fit specific environments.

Capgemini began targeted awareness sessions and training workshops for leaders, managers, talent acquisition teams, and HR employees to understand how inherent biases can impact decision making and how to create an inclusive workspace for neurodivergent individuals. More than 20 workshops have been organised with over 5,000 employees participating. The company created guides and fact sheets for managers to take to their respective teams, ultimately spreading knowledge and awareness among employees. As of now, Capgemini has created four factsheets which share information about Accessibility of Communication, Basics of Neurodiversity, Neurodiversity Language Framework, and Hypersensitivity Accommodations.

Capgemini went a step further to highlight in their benefits policy about the Capgemini Group Medical Insurance Plan which covers behavioural and neurodevelopmental disorders up to INR 50,000 per member and includes OPD and IPD.

As a result of this successful initiative, Capgemini has hired their first full time neurodivergent employee in SAP and has a few more interns in the pipeline. The company has also successfully launched their Employee Resource Group called NeuroAbility, with employees who have volunteered their time and energy towards ensuring inclusion at every level.

Neurodiversity is a part of Capgemini’s rich tapestry of diversity, and they are excited to embark on this journey towards the inclusion of neurodivergent individuals to build a safe, sustainable, and equitable future for all.
